I've had quite a positive experience with IVC especially coming in with low expectations. I used their 75mbos 40$/ 2 yr promo. First off when I switched over to them I wanted the internet hooked up 2 weeks in the future which they had no issues doing on time. I did have issues with their modem I live in a condo apartment and was having packet loss issues (internet temporarily cutting out due to too many internet signals nearby). When I called after some time they shipped me a high end router for free and it greatly improved my problem. I really appreciate they did that I was going to buy my own router but for $15 to return the old one via post mail I am satisfied they corrected the problem. That being said I knew what I was doing and knew exactly the problem if you didn't know much tech wise it could have been worse/more frustrating but I am still highly rating based on my personal experience with them

Overall, their price is affordable and service is great. If IVC can have cheap mobile plans, it would be better for me.

I used planhub.ca to select a low-cost internet service for my area. I selected this provider. I usually negotiate with Rogers every year to match the price of the discount providers. I had negotiated a few months into a new deal when I needed to move (I have been moving almost yearly). The prices for internet had gone up, even with the loyalty discount. I didn't need faster internet b/c I was going from student housing to a studio apartment, but my income has not increased during the pandemic. This discount provider was $5 less (two year deal) than Rogers for same speed. Discount providers use the same IT people as Rogers but, seem to contact them more indirectly. However, unlike my last attempt years ago with a different discount provider, the technician showed up and connected it on-time and with the same diligence as a Rogers client. Working perfectly.

If you’re looking for great internet service at a cheap price, you should check out IVC Telecom. There was a minor technical issue during installation but everything worked out in the end. I’m happy that I’m with IVC.

Short review:
For those who hesitate: if the cable is stable with your current internet cable provider, there should be no trouble.

Longer review:
After reading the many reviews/FB comments, I still took a chance in December 2020 and I am very satisfied. I worked from home, like most nowadays, so it was important to have a stable connection. I can be on Microsoft Teams reunions without any drops. The ironic thing was that some of my colleagues had trouble using Videotron yet I was not affected. So Big or small providers, things happen!

The evening was another concern from the reviews/FB comments since I watched 4k content. I can say I used speedtest.net to monitor the performance during the evening in the first weeks. Again no drops during the first few weeks until ... I had one major problem in the first week when Quebec started a curfew at 8PM at the start of January. The load affected everyone. I contacted IVC and they were already working with Videotron to correct the problems province-wide. It took a few days to correct the situation. Since then, it's stable.

The modem was the same model has my previous provider. I only had to switch them.

The service is basic but I can understand at that price.

When I switched, I still had the 60/10 speed of my old provider. By connecting my laptop directly to the modem has asked by the IVC tech, I was able to see that I got more than the 100/30. My router is a recent WIFI6 so I did not think it was the problem. The tech asked me to check its setting. I did and discovered I had forgotten I had activated the QoS on my router and the old values were there. :P So, I modified it and got full speed.

I now have 66% more speed for $14+tx less. In the 4th year, I will pay $1 more than what I was paying. And by then, my old ISP would also raise the price. Until then, I save every month. :)

Overall, it will depend of the stability of your area and how much you want to pay per month.

I received my equipment very quickly and customer service is always available to answer our questions. The only reason I remove a star is the installation delay
But at this price, it's unbeatable!

They provided the cheapest internet service at the time of my purchase

They do throttle. I bought a 4k tv and can barely watch 720p youtube video in evenings. I love the connection and internet speed, but they limit my tv so much I now have to find a new service provider. Tech say they don't throttle and even 2nd level of tech tells me they don't... but they do and try to "convince me" I need a better plan... already have 100mb/sec... more than enough for 4k. So either they don't know what they're doing or just lie to costumers.

Very bad set up experience, but has been pretty good since getting set up and cheap
